Elie Tahari celebrated the opening of his newest boutique at Tysons Galleria with Vogue Magazine on April 27th. The event was hosted by Jean-Marie Fernandez, Nancy Koide, and Amy Baier to benefit THEARC, a community center that is home to ten of Washington, DC’s best nonprofit agencies and provides access to high quality educational, arts, recreation, health and social service programs to under-served children and adults.
The 2500 square-foot boutique offers the complete Elie Tahari lifestyle and houses the women’s, men’s and accessories collections. The Tyson’s Galleria store will be the 21st to open in the United States.
The boutique was designed in collaboration with renowned Italian architect and interior designer Nicoletta Canesi to complement the modern sophistication of the Elie Tahari brand. In keeping with Elie’s passion for mid-century design, furniture in the store includes
an Edward Wormley Dunbar sofa and a pair of magazine tables, a Noguchi coffee table, a Carl Auboück primitive side table and a pair of Hans Wegner cane chairs. The entrance to the store is framed with a floor to ceiling glass and metal façade, while blackened steel hang rails line the store, creating a striking backdrop for the collections. European white oak flooring, Venetian plaster walls, silk carpets and vintage Venini chandeliers complete the décor.
When asked about the decision to open in the Washington, DC area, Mr. Tahari stated that the collections have always done very well in the market and the DC lifestyle and aesthetic fits the brand quite perfectly. He also has his sights on dressing our fashionable First Lady.
With the full collection of menswear and accessories now available in the Tysons Galleria, we hope to even see President Obama in Tahari.
“We are excited to welcome Elie Tahari to our mix of international luxury retailers at Tysons Galleria. The brand is well known in our market and to be able to present a full selection from Elie Tahari in a boutique setting should be particularly exciting for our shoppers,” said Rich Dinning, Senior General Manager, Tysons Galleria”
