Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel will celebrate its first anniversary with a special RLife LIVE performance with jazz star Marcus Johnson, on May 3^rd from 5pm to 8pm.  Renaissance Arlington Capital View opened in March 2011 and has created more than 250 new jobs for the Arlington community since its inception.

Having recently been awarded the prestigious Gold certification by the U.S. Green Building Council for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®), the stunning, 300 –room Renaissance Arlington Capital View showcases modern architecture boasting a remarkable combination of luminous design and intuitive technology.

The special anniversary RLife LIVE performance will feature Marcus Johnson, the internationally renowned, Billboard Top 10 Jazz Artist, NAACP Image Award-nominee, and entrepreneur from Washington, DC.  Johnson’s unique, self-taught style of piano play, has earned him distinction among his peers, praise within the media, and accolades across the music industry.  Marcus Johnson will also launch his new FLO Wine label for the DC market during the celebration.

FLO (“For the Love Of…”) Wine comes from the top appellations in California and like Marcus’s FLO Brands, is focused on bringing the pairing of Johnson’s sweet jazz-funk sound and smooth FLO Wine taste to discerning patrons in the beautiful, contemporary surroundings of the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel.

RLife LIVE is Renaissance Hotels’ global entertainment program dedicated to providing hotel guests and local patrons with an intimate, up close and personal look into culinary arts, design, music and more.  Throughout 2011, RLife LIVE has showcased an eclectic fleet of emerging artists at various Renaissance Hotels as a continuation from the launch of the program in 2010 with artists such as Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars, Robyn, Janelle Monae and Neon Trees, among others.

Every Thursday night from 5pm to 8pm Renaissance Arlington Capital View transforms SOCCi into a music lounge with specialty cocktails and the Blue Ribbon Classics Menu developed by acclaimed chefs Eric and Bruce Bromberg of New York’s popular Blue Ribbon Restaurant Group.

Six years later and more than $2.2 million later, here we are!  Since Fashion For Paws began in 2007 it has raised more than $2.2 million dollars for Washington Humane Society by infusing the nation’s capital with fashion, drawing an extraordinary crowd of VIPs, fashion lovers and animal lovers alike.

This year, more than 1700 guests showed up for Fashion For Paws to see 75 top notch models and 40 pooches who raised a minimum of $5000 to model in the runway show at the National Building Museum on April 14^th.  Co-chaired by Michelle Benaim, Dr. Ashley Hughes, Tommy McFly and Sara Nielsen, with Pamela Sorensen as the Master of Ceremonies, F4Ps raised more than $718,000. Veteran singer, actress and author Marie Osmond served as honorary co-chair and adopted an adorable puppy named George right on stage.

Tara DeNicolas has made her vision a reality and with such grace and dedication that all of us simply can not help but to support her and such a wonderful cause.  Congratulations to all who worked tirelessly to make F4Ps 2012 such a huge success, especially Syzergy Events, the retailers of Tysons Galleria, Wag Time, Design Cuisine, Brendan Kownacki, Chris Brown, Toka Salon and Beauty and the Bride.

Thursday thru Sunday the Styleliner will be parked in the PNC Bank lot at M Street and Wisconsin Avenue in Georgetown, hours will be 11am-­‐7pm. On Wednesdays the truck will be parked in Dupont Circle with 10% of sales benefitting Women Thrive International. The W Washington D.C. will also host the Styleliner May 10-­‐12, Thursday and Friday from 6-­‐9pm and Saturday 8pm-­‐ midnight.

While in town The Styleliner will present a series of events with local partners including a media launch in Cady’s Alley and Gilt DC/OYA Restaurant collabo.
